The incident took place around 2.45am when game wardens noticed a vehicle moving suspiciously within a designated no-hunting zone. The car, which was driving with only one headlight and lacked licence plates, raised immediate concerns.
As the wardens approached, they reportedly heard a gunshot emanating from the direction of the vehicle. When the wardens signalled for the driver to stop, the car accelerated instead, leading to a dangerous situation.
During the escape, the vehicle collided with the warden’s car, inflicting damage before the chase continued. Despite the wardens’ efforts, the suspects managed to evade capture initially.
Following the incident, an investigation was launched, and testimony was gathered that linked the two suspects to the event. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued, and both men were detained later that day to assist with further questioning.
