Authorities were alerted after a person known to the woman entered the first-floor flat around 2pm, discovering her unresponsive in the bathroom.
According to police sources, the flat displayed significant signs of disturbance, including broken objects scattered throughout the premises. The woman, who was known to have health issues, had not been in contact with anyone for 24 hours and missed a scheduled surgery at a local hospital, prompting worries among her acquaintances.
Forensic pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou were called to the scene to conduct an examination. As of now, the flat has been cordoned off while members of the Police Headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Service carry out extensive searches and gather evidence for further analysis.
