A motorcyclist has tragically succumbed to injuries after being hit by a truck in Larnaca. Artem Fomichov, a 28-year-old Ukrainian national, died from injuries sustained when his motorbike was sideswiped by a trailer truck on Thursday morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 7 a.m. as Fomichov was moving alongside the truck. According to police reports, the 70-year-old driver was attempting a right turn onto the main Dromolaxia-Larnaca road when the truck swerved unexpectedly, cutting off the motorcyclist’s path and throwing him onto the tarmac.

Emergency services responded promptly, and Fomichov was rushed to the Larnaca General ICU, where he was treated in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly before midnight that same day.
Authorities are now gathering evidence from the scene to determine the circumstances leading to the accident. Examinations revealed a helmet at the site, but it remains unclear whether Fomichov was wearing it at the time of the collision.
This incident marks another tragic chapter in the ongoing concerns surrounding road safety in the area. Local officials continue to advocate for increased awareness and caution among drivers and motorcyclists alike, hoping to prevent further tragedies on the roads.
