tech stocks — tech stocks — Greek investors flocked to technology and artificial intelligence stocks during the summer of 2025, as revealed in a recent survey by fintech app Plum. This trend saw shares of Nvidia and Palantir becoming the standout choices for local investors, accounting for nearly one third of all stock purchase orders from June to August.
Tech stocks: Nvidia and Palantir Lead the Charge
Throughout the summer months, Nvidia consistently held the top position among stock purchases, while Palantir gained significant traction, climbing to second place by August. The performance of both stocks was impressive, with Nvidia’s share price rising by 31 per cent and Palantir’s by 44 per cent between June 2 and August 19, before both experienced a decline.
Meta’s Recovery and Traditional Banks’ Appeal
Interestingly, Meta demonstrated the strongest recovery in demand among Plum investors, buoyed by the company’s ambitious plans for artificial intelligence and a financial performance that exceeded expectations in both revenue and profit. The interest in AI stocks did not overshadow traditional banking, as Citigroup and Bank of America collectively accounted for nearly 20 per cent of all orders in August. This indicates that Greek investors are seeking not only innovation but also stability from established financial institutions.
Apple’s Comeback and the Rise of ETFs
Apple, which had seen a dip in demand in July, made a notable comeback, returning to the ranks of the six most popular stocks in August. This rebound coincided with the company re-establishing its relations with the White House. Additionally, diversification emerged as a central theme in ETF investments among Greek investors.
Diverse Investment Strategies
The five leading ETF choices for Greek investors this summer included Global Materials, Information Technology, S&P 500, Bold 80/20 Fund, and FTSE All-World Equity. This selection underscores a dual strategy, with a focus on materials and technology sectors while simultaneously pursuing broad global diversification through index-based and multi-sector funds.
