share buyback — The National Bank of Greece has successfully executed a buyback of over one million shares, acquiring 1,295,013 shares between July 07 and July 14, 2026. This strategic move involved a total expenditure of €20,193,840.73, with the shares purchased at a weighted average price of €15.59 each.
This buyback aligns with decisions made during the bank’s annual general meeting of Shareholders on April 30, 2026. Following this meeting, the initial phase of the share buyback programme was set in motion, receiving approval from the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) of the European Central Bank (ECB) on June 08, 2026.
With the completion of these latest transactions, the National Bank of Greece’s total holding of its own shares has risen to 20,561,805. This figure represents approximately 2.25 per cent of the bank’s total share capital. The bank has indicated plans for the cancellation of these shares as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance shareholder value.
