The police raided a shop in Nicosia on Monday morning, seizing various cannabis products in a significant operation. The raid took place in the presence of the shop’s 25-year-old manager, who was on-site during the enforcement action.
This operation was executed with the collaboration of multiple police units, including the drug squad, the police branch focused on intellectual property theft, and health services personnel. The coordinated effort reflects a comprehensive approach to tackling illegal cannabis distribution in the area.
Cannabis products: Products Confiscated
During the raid, authorities confiscated a total of 14 products containing cannabidiol (CBD), five items with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), 47 products identified as cannabis, and 16 hand-rolled cigarettes containing a substance believed to be cannabis. All of these items have been forwarded for analysis to confirm their contents and legality.
Health Services Involvement
The health services also took action during the raid, seizing 15 products that were found to be non-compliant with food health standards. This highlights not only the focus on illegal drug distribution but also the importance of public health safety in relation to cannabis products.
Ongoing Investigations
The Ayios Dhometios police station, along with the drug squad, is continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shop and the products seized. Authorities are expected to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
