Vehicle fires: First Incident in Omonia

The initial fire occurred just before 9:00 PM, when flames engulfed a car parked in an open area outside a car parts shop in the Omonia region. Upon investigation, fire officials determined that a short circuit was the cause of the blaze. Two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, where they worked swiftly to extinguish the fire. Despite their efforts, the vehicle sustained significant damage, particularly to the engine compartment.

Latter Fire Involving a Moped

A few hours later, at 11:53 PM, the Fire Service received another call regarding a moped fire in Limassol, located in a similar open space. The moped was also severely damaged by the flames, although the precise extent of the destruction has yet to be evaluated.
