Dust will return to the atmosphere over Cyprus starting Wednesday, as low pressure continues to influence the weather in the region. Isolated showers are still a possibility in the coming days, particularly before the dust settles in.

  • Temperatures will hover close to seasonal averages on Tuesday and Wednesday, before dipping slightly on Thursday as the weather changes.

Dust: Variable Weather Patterns Ahead

Forecasts suggest that Monday will bring an improvement in weather conditions, with clear skies expected. However, by Thursday, increased cloud cover and a higher likelihood of rain will take hold of the area.

Tonight’s Weather Forecast

As night falls, the skies will remain partly cloudy, and isolated showers cannot be ruled out, especially in the western regions and mountainous areas. Winds will blow from the south-west to the west, reaching 3 to 4 Beaufort inland and in the mountains, while coastal areas may experience winds of 4 to 5 Beaufort, temporarily hitting 6 Beaufort on windward coasts. Those venturing out to sea should be cautious, as conditions will be rough to very rough. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 9 °C inland, approximately 12 °C along the coast, and about 4 °C in the higher mountainous regions.

Tomorrow’s Outlook

On Tuesday, the weather will remain partly cloudy, with the potential for isolated showers in the afternoon, primarily in the southern and eastern parts of the island. Winds will shift from south-west to north-west, blowing at 3 to 4 Beaufort and potentially reaching 5 Beaufort along coastal areas. Initially rough seas will gradually become slight to rough. Temperatures will rise during the day, reaching around 19 °C inland, while southern and eastern coasts will see similar highs, with 17 °C recorded on the remaining coasts and 10 °C in the mountains.

Evening Conditions on Tuesday

Tomorrow night, the weather is expected to be mostly clear, punctuated by periods of increased cloudiness. Winds will alternate from north-westerly to north-easterly, with southern coastlines seeing south-easterly winds at around 3 Beaufort. The sea conditions will initially be rough but will begin to ease.

Midweek Weather Developments

The weather will remain variable on Tuesday and Wednesday, with conditions remaining partly cloudy. Isolated showers may occur as Wednesday progresses, heralding the return of dust. By Thursday, the region will experience a shift to predominantly cloudy weather, with localised showers and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms.

Temperatures will hover close to seasonal averages on Tuesday and Wednesday, before dipping slightly on Thursday as the weather changes.
