Larnaca experienced the most significant impact, with a total of 18 incidents reported. These included six cases of fallen or displaced trees, six involving objects torn loose by the wind, and five instances of cable sparking.
Other Affected Areas
Following Larnaca, Famagusta was also significantly affected, with 14 incidents recorded. Similar to Larnaca, Famagusta’s emergencies included fallen trees and loose objects, alongside specific calls related to the Paralimni-Deryneia area.
Nicosia responded to eight incidents, which comprised fallen trees, water pumping, and towing of immobilised vehicles. Additionally, five cases of cable sparking were handled by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) crew.
Paphos and Limassol’s Contributions
In Paphos, the Fire Service dealt with a mixture of emergencies, including water pumping and a fallen tree. Limassol’s responses included managing fallen trees and loose objects such as scaffolding and water tanks.

EMAK, the Special Disaster Response Unit, also contributed by addressing one incident involving a fallen tree in the Kofinou area. The widespread nature of these incidents highlights the severe weather’s impact across multiple regions in Cyprus.
