intimidate ex-partner — intimidate ex-partner — A 34-year-old man was remanded on Thursday for eight days after allegedly firing shots into the air to intimidate his former partner in Limassol. The incident occurred early on Monday morning and has raised concerns within the local community.

According to police reports, authorities were alerted at 8pm on Monday regarding gunfire in the Ayios Ioannis area. The shots were fired around 3.30am, when the suspect allegedly approached the woman and discharged a pistol into the air. Investigators later found four shell casings at the scene.

Local media has suggested that the suspect and the victim had previously been in a romantic relationship, although this information has not been confirmed by police. The investigation remains ongoing as officers piece together the events surrounding the incident.

Eyewitness accounts, supported by CCTV footage, indicate that early on October 13, two women and a man were walking in the vicinity when the suspect, believed to have been on a motorcycle, began to follow them. Reports claim that he approached one of the women, attempting to persuade her to join him on his motorbike. When she declined, he allegedly brandished a pistol, fired shots into the air, and subsequently fled the scene.

As of Thursday afternoon, the police press office has not confirmed whether the case is being treated as a relationship-related crime. Investigations are continuing, with law enforcement officials focusing efforts on gathering more evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
