On the evening of February 8, at around 7.30pm, the delivery driver was riding his motorcycle in Ypsonas when he collided with a second motorcyclist. Allegedly, after the crash, the second motorcyclist demanded money as compensation for the damage to his vehicle. The situation escalated when he was joined by several accomplices, who also assaulted the 24-year-old.
The group not only demanded money but also proceeded to steal the victim’s mobile phone and a sum of cash before fleeing the scene. The delivery driver sustained injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he was treated and discharged the same evening.
Following the incident, local police took swift action. They released photographs of five individuals they believed could assist with the investigation. On Wednesday evening, one of the five suspects was apprehended, leading to ongoing police inquiries into the matter.
