Trapped Driver Rescued After Crash in Larnaca Amid Fires in Nicosia

The fire brigade promptly responded to the scene, managing to extricate the individual from the wreckage. Following their efforts, the person was handed over to an ambulance crew, who transported him to Larnaca general hospital for further medical attention.

In a separate incident, the police are also investigating two fires that erupted in Nicosia on the same day. The first fire was reported at 1.19pm at the International State Fair grounds, where approximately three acres of wild vegetation, trees, and waste materials were engulfed in flames.

Earlier that morning, another fire broke out in the Ergates area of Nicosia district, consuming three hectares of crops, hay bales, and wild vegetation. Firefighters were quick to respond, deploying three fire brigade trucks, two rapid reaction vehicles, and additional support from the Forestry Department and local volunteers.
