In a significant drug bust, a 45-year-old man was apprehended on Tuesday following the discovery of over nine kilos of cocaine during a meticulously coordinated police operation in Limassol. This incident underscores ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking within the Republic of Cyprus.

After this exchange, the suspect returned to his vehicle, but police, having identified him, gestured for him to stop. In a reckless attempt to evade capture, he reversed and collided with a police car. Following this, he exited his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, clutching the plastic bag containing cocaine.
The swift actions of the drug squad led to his immediate apprehension. Upon search, authorities discovered approximately 1 kilogram and 48 grams of cocaine within the plastic bag he had been carrying. Additionally, the man possessed €2,525, the keys to the second vehicle, and other items that were taken as evidence.
Drug Seizures Continue
Within the second vehicle, police conducted a thorough search and uncovered an astounding 8 kilograms and 46 grams of cocaine. This haul, combined with the initial seizure, highlights an alarming scale of drug distribution activities within the region.
Furthermore, the investigation revealed 42 cartons of duty-free cigarettes located in a third vehicle associated with the suspect.
