In the wake of her dismissal, the nurse sought justice through a labour disputes court, asserting that her firing was unlawful due to a lack of a proper hearing. She also pursued compensation for what she claimed was an illegal termination of her contract.
However, the labour disputes court found her arguments unconvincing, ruling that the dismissal was justified given the circumstances. Seeking to overturn this decision, the nurse then escalated the matter to the appeals court.
In its recent ruling, the appeals court affirmed the earlier decision, stating that the nurse’s actions could have posed a significant risk to patient safety and health.
