This year’s finals brought together an impressive 3,424 universities from 103 countries, with a staggering participation of 73,083 students. Competing in teams of three, participants were tasked with demonstrating their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.

Neapolis University stood out as the sole representative from both Cyprus and Greece, marking a significant achievement in the competition’s history. The team’s performance is particularly noteworthy as they finished ahead of several historically prominent institutions. Notable universities that the Neapolis team surpassed include Duke University, ranked 27th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, the University of Melbourne in 39th place, and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which falls within the 251 to 300 range.

The world champion title was claimed by St. Petersburg State University, which secured first place in this highly competitive event. The recognition for the Neapolis team not only highlights their individual talents but also underscores the university’s growing reputation in the field of computer science.
