Limassol Carnival returns from February 12 to 22, promising a vibrant celebration under the theme ‘Limassol madness’. The announcement was made by Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis during a press conference held on Wednesday. He highlighted the renewed dynamism and enrichment of this year’s festivities, aimed at providing unique experiences for all ages.
Limassol carnival: Emphasis on Tradition and Culture
Mayor Armeftis noted that this year’s celebrations have been designed to strengthen the historical and cultural character of the carnival. Key traditional elements such as satyr floats, the pellomaska (or “crazy masks”), handmade costumes, and grand dances will be integral to the festivities, maintaining the spirit of the Limassol Carnival.
A Diverse Range of Events
The carnival events will take place throughout Limassol and its surrounding neighbourhoods, featuring a variety of activities. The festivities will kick off at 7pm on February 12 with the crowning of this year’s carnival queen, Amaryllis Kyriakou, at Grigoris Afxentiou square, followed by a celebratory party.

Marija Savina, head of the production company Screentale Cyprus, announced that her team would be filming a pilot episode for the international television series ‘My Aphrodite’ during the grand carnival parade.
