Kykkos monastery: Spiritual Gathering to Address Drought

On the evening of Friday, 21 November, the Kykkos Monastery will commence an All-night Vigil. It will feature a series of services including Vespers, the Midnight Office, Matins, and the Divine Liturgy, culminating in a procession on Saturday morning. This gathering will see the faithful come together in prayer, seeking divine intervention in response to the prolonged drought.

Following the Divine Liturgy on Saturday at approximately 9:00 a.m., attendees will participate in a procession of the miraculous Holy Icon of the Eleousa of Kykkos to the Throni of the Virgin Mary. This special prayer service aims to invoke the compassion of the Most Holy Theotokos and is designed to unite the community in their shared hope for rain.

Leadership of the Vigil

The entire service and procession will be led by Kykkos Bishop Nikiforos, alongside the monks and clergy of the monastery. The leadership aims to foster a sense of unity among the faithful, encouraging them to pray fervently for the refreshing rains needed for the earth.
