The incident occurred on a recent evening at 8:25 p.m. within the Forest Park area of the Pano Platres community in the Limassol district. According to an official announcement, the fire was reported by a vigilant citizen.

Emergency services responded promptly, containing the fire by 8:45 p.m. The flames had consumed approximately 300 square metres of land, predominantly covered with low wild vegetation and scattered pine trees.

A coordinated effort saw two personnel from the Forest Department, equipped with one fire engine, and five firefighters from the Fire Service, supported by two fire engines, engage in the firefighting efforts. Additionally, a small community fire engine from the Pano Platres community contributed to extinguishing the blaze.

This incident has raised concerns about fire safety and prevention measures in the region, prompting local authorities to assess the circumstances surrounding the dual outbreaks.
