Freedom24 has been recognised for its contributions to financial technology, winning two prestigious awards at the 2026 FinTech Awards. The company, a European subsidiary of Freedom Holding Corp., received accolades for its pan-European retail investment platform and its cutting-edge artificial intelligence-powered compliance technology.
Honours for Tradernet and Neo Compliance
This week, Freedom24 announced it has earned the Best Pan-European Retail Investment Platform 2026 award for its proprietary Tradernet platform. This recognition highlights the platform’s presence across the European Union and its impact on the retail investment landscape. Additionally, Freedom24 was awarded the AI in Finance Innovation Award 2026 for its Neo Compliance framework, a system designed to tackle regulatory challenges faced by brokerages operating in multiple jurisdictions.
Acknowledging Innovation in Financial Technology
The awards, presented by Wealth & Finance International, celebrate companies that are leading the charge in financial technology innovation. Winners are chosen based on their expertise, performance, and measurable impact within their markets. Freedom24’s achievements reflect its strategic use of proprietary technology to enhance its competitive position in the investment services market.
Insights from Freedom24’s CEO
In an accompanying interview, Freedom24’s chief executive, Evgenii Tiapkin, discussed the company’s technology strategy and ambitions for growth in Europe. He explained that the Neo Compliance framework was developed to uphold rigorous regulatory standards while allowing for expansion across various jurisdictions. Since its inception in 2024, the framework has undergone four development phases, utilising insights from a team of over 200 engineers.
Transforming Compliance Processes with AI
The Neo Compliance framework revolutionises traditional linear compliance processes by employing a network of specialised artificial intelligence agents. These agents analyse source-of-funds documentation from more than 80 countries, assess customer risk profiles, and monitor client transactions in near real time. According to Freedom24, AI now completes approximately 95 per cent of the initial compliance work, with qualified compliance officers making final decisions.
Efficiency Gains in Document Verification
Freedom24 has reported significant improvements in operational efficiency, noting that document verification times have been slashed from days to minutes. Furthermore, transaction monitoring has evolved from selective sampling to comprehensive oversight across the client base. Tiapkin emphasised the importance of viewing financial technology as an operating layer that addresses real problems within a regulated environment.
Human Oversight in AI Decision-Making
The company’s approach balances AI capabilities with human oversight. Tiapkin stated, “AI handles the high-volume, low-risk cognitive load,” while human staff manage decisions that significantly impact risk, regulation, or client capital. He underscored that the pivotal question should not be what AI can accomplish, but rather what it should be empowered to decide.
In-House Development for Rapid Innovation
By developing its technology in-house, Freedom24 can innovate swiftly without compromising regulatory controls. Tiapkin noted, “Because Tradernet, Neo Compliance, and the AI layer are all developed in-house, improvements ship on our timeline, not a vendor’s.” This strategy enables Freedom24 to remain agile in a fast-evolving financial landscape.
Future Aspirations in Financial Services
Looking towards the future, Freedom24 aims to expand its role beyond brokerage services to create a more comprehensive financial ecosystem. The company is working on the Freedom SuperApp, which integrates banking, payments, investing, insurance, and lifestyle services into a single account. Tiapkin also revealed that Freedom24 is exploring the potential of obtaining a European banking licence, with Portugal, Romania, and the Czech Republic identified as key markets for expansion.
