- paphos hotel — A four-year-old child from Israel is in critical condition after a harrowing incident at a hotel swimming pool in Paphos on Wednesday.
During a family holiday at a resort in Chloraka, the child was found floating unconscious in the pool. A woman, who was at the pool, spotted the child and quickly jumped into action. She retrieved the child from the water and, along with the child’s mother and lifeguards, provided initial first aid.
Emergency services were alerted, and an ambulance from Paphos Hospital arrived promptly. Medical personnel assessed the situation and determined that the child’s condition necessitated immediate transfer to a specialised unit at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia.
Before being transported, the child was intubated to assist with breathing during the journey. The urgency of the situation highlighted the critical need for advanced medical care, leading to the decision to move the child to the capital.
Currently, the child remains in the intensive care unit at Makarios Hospital, where medical staff are closely monitoring the situation. As of now, authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
