Among the suspects, two men, aged 38 and 32, are linked to the discovery of large quantities of materials that could potentially be used to create explosives, specifically ammonium nitrate. The other two suspects, aged 57 and 54, are believed to be associates of the main suspects.
The Larnaca district court has ordered that the 38-year-old and the 32-year-old remain in custody for an additional four days. Reports indicate that one of the younger men has confessed to intentions of targeting Israeli nationals, raising serious concerns among law enforcement.
Investigations by the police suggest that the two main suspects may have been collaborating with other individuals within Cyprus. The 32-year-old has been residing in Cyprus for several years and is connected to two locations where the explosive materials were uncovered.
Authorities report that the 38-year-old entered Cyprus without proper residence documents, having initially arrived via the northern part of the island. The first significant find of explosive materials occurred on May 21 at a residential property near Governor’s Beach, followed by a further discovery in a second-floor flat in Larnaca two days later.
