drug possession — Five individuals were arrested in Paphos for drug possession on Saturday evening after police stopped their vehicle for a search.
The group was travelling in a car driven by a 54-year-old man, accompanied by a 27-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, and a 16-year-old girl.
Drug possession: Chase and Discovery
As officers approached the vehicle, the 27-year-old passenger attempted to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended by the police.
During the pursuit, he was found with approximately 83 grams of cocaine and cash totalling €3,050 and £70. This discovery led to a more thorough search of the car.
Seized Substances
In addition to the drugs found on the 27-year-old, officers uncovered further illegal substances within the vehicle. A total of:
- Four grams of cocaine
- 19 grams of magic mushrooms
- 183 grams of cannabis
- Half a gram of methamphetamine
Also seized were precision scales and various other items related to drug use and distribution.
Custody and Ongoing Investigation
Following the arrests, all five individuals were remanded in custody for six days. Police have confirmed that their investigation is continuing, with further inquiries expected to shed more light on the case.
