Members of the fire brigade’s special operations unit, Emak, quickly responded to the scene. They worked alongside ambulance crews to free the injured driver, utilising specialised rescue equipment to ensure a safe extraction.
Following the rescue, the driver was transported to the accident and emergency department of Larnaca general hospital for further treatment. Kettis noted that a rescue vehicle with emergency responders was dispatched to assist with the operation.
