“We need to be ready,” Christodoulides stated, expressing gratitude for the collaboration with the US government. The president highlighted that wildfires in southern Europe represent a “collective challenge,” underscoring the necessity for international cooperation to combat such crises.
Since taking office, Christodoulides has initiated partnerships with various US agencies, including the FBI, to address a range of challenges. He noted, “We are very glad that we have this cooperation at all levels—political, security, and economic trade.” This multifaceted approach aims to bolster Cyprus’s resilience against future wildfires.
