These cutting-edge drones, manufactured by Limassol-based Swarmly Aero, are now fully operational and will serve critical roles in surveillance, reconnaissance, and target designation missions.
Swarmly Aero has not only delivered the H-10 Poseidon drones but has also completed training for personnel who will operate these systems. The integration of the drones into the Artillery’s operational planning is a crucial step forward in enhancing the National Guard’s capabilities.
The H-10 Poseidon is one of the most advanced tactical unmanned aircraft available, offering operational capabilities that significantly bolster ground forces’ surveillance and precision. Designed for long-duration flights, even in challenging weather conditions, the H-10 is equipped with an advanced day-and-night electro-optical system, enabling continuous surveillance and real-time intelligence gathering.
One of the standout features of the H-10 is its ability to designate targets, facilitating precise detection and geolocation of enemy positions. This capability is vital for supporting friendly fire missions, enhancing the effectiveness of ground operations.
The drone’s extended flight endurance and stability make it ideal for various applications, including border patrol, monitoring critical infrastructure, early warning missions, and tactical support in operational environments. Additionally, secure encrypted communications ensure that data is transmitted reliably to operations centres without interference.

In a related development, the National Guard has issued a recruitment notice for five non-commissioned officers to fulfil the External Pilot (EP) role for unmanned aircraft systems. While this recruitment does not pertain to the H-10 Poseidon drones, it is aimed at staffing older systems acquired by the National Guard in 2019.
Defence Ministry spokesman Christos Pieris indicated that the National Guard requires five to six additional personnel for the 470 Unmanned Aircraft Squadron, allowing for extended operational periods of their assets. Staff from Swarmly Aero are currently in Cyprus to train interested operators, which is expected to bolster the unit’s capabilities.
