The Cyprus Met Office has advised residents to prepare for sweltering conditions, cautioning that the heat may pose risks, especially to vulnerable groups. Forecasters noted that Thursday will start with patches of low cloud and isolated mist or fog, but these conditions are anticipated to clear in the morning, giving way to mainly fine weather.

As the day progresses, increased cloud is expected to develop over the Troodos region, though maximum temperatures will still be notably high. In addition to Nicosia’s forecast of 40C, Limassol and Larnaca are expected to reach around 34C, while Paphos may see temperatures of 31C. The cooler Troodos region is predicted to hit 30C.

Similar weather conditions are anticipated to persist through Saturday, with temperatures remaining significantly above seasonal averages. The Met Office has urged residents to stay hydrated and minimise outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
