The Famagusta District Court in Paralimni issued a seven-day remand order after the brothers were arrested shortly before noon yesterday.

The incident, which occurred last Thursday, 21st August, involved a 31-year-old victim who was attacked while at the hotel. According to police reports, the assault took place around 5:30pm when the victim was punched in the face, reportedly with the use of a knuckle duster.

The victim suffered significant injuries, including a fractured eye socket and other blunt trauma injuries. He received treatment at Famagusta General Hospital in Paralimni and was discharged after receiving first aid.

Investigations by Famagusta CID revealed that the attack followed a prior argument between the victim and one of the brothers while off duty. The nature of the charges against the suspects—causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon—reflects the seriousness of the victim’s injuries.

Both brothers are currently in custody as legal proceedings continue. The case has raised concerns about workplace safety and the potential for violence in hospitality settings.
