The ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, who highlighted the importance of aviation in the region’s economic development. Group CEO Uri Sirkis expressed that this expansion reflects Bird Aviation’s commitment to establishing a leading maintenance hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
During the event, Sirkis shared his confidence in Cyprus’s potential as a growing centre for aviation maintenance, stating, “We believe that Cyprus is well-positioned to become a pivotal player in the aviation industry.”
Frederic Pralus, Bird Aviation’s CEO, emphasised that the inauguration of the second hangar is a crucial step in the company’s growth strategy. This new facility will enhance their technical capabilities and enable them to continue delivering reliable, high-quality services to clients.
With the aviation industry experiencing increasing demand, Bird Aviation is already moving forward with plans for further expansion. Construction on a third hangar has commenced, and the company has outlined plans for three additional bays to be completed by 2026, ensuring they can meet market needs effectively.
