The blaze erupted at approximately 4.15pm on Saturday in the Nicosia district village of Yeri. Emergency responders reported that two vehicles were completely destroyed by the flames. Fire brigade spokesman Andreas Kettis indicated that the fire also consumed two acres of dry grassland surrounding the car park.

To combat the fire, five fire engines were dispatched, comprising four units from the fire brigade and one from the forestry department. Their efforts were crucial in containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading further.

The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, focusing on potential leads related to the suspected arson. No further details have been released about the investigation at this time.
