What Affected Vehicle Owners Should Do

Vehicle owners are advised to check their registrations to determine if their vehicles fall within the affected ranges. Detailed information about dangerous products can be found on the Safety Gate website, where alerts can be searched using the corresponding alert numbers.

The department has urged manufacturers, distributors, importers, and sellers who may have supplied these products in Cyprus to notify the Road Transport Department promptly. If these products are available in Cyprus, it is mandatory for these parties to initiate recalls as required by law.

Owners of affected vehicles or motorcycles should reach out to their respective manufacturers, distributors, or dealers for guidance on next steps. This can involve verifying whether their vehicles are impacted by checking the manufacturing date range and model type or number listed on their vehicle registration certificates.

Returning Affected Parts

For those in possession of the flagged parts, it is advised to cease usage immediately and return them to the point of purchase where possible. Customers should inform the seller about the return to ensure proper handling.

Consumer Rights and Complaints

If a manufacturer, distributor, importer, or seller does not respond effectively to consumer rights inquiries, consumers have the option to file a written complaint with the Consumer Protection Service through their website.

For further assistance, vehicle owners can contact the Road Transport Department directly or email [email protected] for specific inquiries.
