drink-driver — drink-driver — In Paphos, a 25-year-old man was arrested for drink-driving after causing a three-car pile-up on Thursday evening. The incident occurred on Andrea Omirou Street, where the driver lost control of his vehicle, veering from the roadway and colliding with a parked car.
The initial impact was significant enough to push the parked vehicle into another car nearby. Following the collision, the driver’s vehicle caught fire at the front, prompting residents to alert the Fire Service, which arrived promptly to extinguish the flames.
Police conducted an alcohol test on the driver, revealing a reading of 76 microgrammes—more than three times the legal limit of 22 microgrammes. Further investigation revealed that he was also unlicensed and uninsured while operating the vehicle.
Emergency services transported the driver to hospital for precautionary observation immediately after the crash. Meanwhile, Paphos traffic police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
