Emergency services were called to the scene, but Vouti was pronounced dead upon arrival at Limassol General Hospital. The collision involved a pickup truck, whose 42-year-old driver, thankfully, sustained no injuries.
Initial reports indicate that Vouti was travelling with a group of motorcyclists when he deviated from his lane on a left-hand bend, crossing into oncoming traffic. The impact of the crash was described as extremely violent.
Emilios Kafas, Assistant Head of Limassol Traffic Police, confirmed that Vouti was wearing a protective helmet at the time of the accident, though investigators are examining whether it was fastened correctly. The focus of the investigation is also on the speed of both vehicles at the time of the collision.
The local community is in shock following the news of the motorcyclist’s passing, as friends and family remember Vouti as a passionate motorcyclist. The police continue to gather evidence and witness statements to establish the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash.
