The operation involved members of the Larnaca Traffic Police alongside the Headquarters Traffic Police Special Motorcycle Unit. Their goal was clear: to reduce both fatal and serious road traffic collisions while enhancing public awareness of road safety.
During this extensive check, authorities filed a total of 43 complaints for various traffic violations. Among these, 13 were specifically related to driving under the influence of alcohol. The police also impounded three motorcycles and one vehicle, which will undergo further examination.
The Larnaca Traffic Police emphasised that such targeted traffic checks are ongoing and conducted nationwide around the clock. This continuous effort is aimed at preventing road accidents and fostering responsible driving behaviour within the community.
