A serious traffic accident unfolded in Paralimni late last night when a 41-year-old man driving a van in reverse struck a 23-year-old tourist pedestrian at a hotel.

The unfortunate incident occurred just before midnight, leading to immediate medical attention for the injured man. Initially taken to a private clinic in Paralimni, he was later transferred to Famagusta General Hospital, where his condition took a troubling turn.
Doctors decided to intubate the tourist due to the severity of his injuries. Subsequent evaluations revealed he had suffered liver damage and multiple head injuries, prompting further transfer by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital for specialised treatment.
As of now, medical professionals are closely monitoring his condition, which has been described as critical. The Famagusta Traffic Police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
