During this operation, authorities seized over one kilogramme of narcotics, including cocaine, cannabis, and MDMA. The suspect was apprehended after YKAN received intelligence indicating his involvement in trafficking significant quantities of drugs.

Following his arrest, the suspect was brought before Limassol District Court on Friday morning, 19 September. The court ordered his detention for seven days while the investigation continues.

YKAN had been monitoring the suspect’s activities for several days prior to his arrest. Intelligence suggested he was storing drugs at both his own apartment and his father’s residence in Nicosia, with supplies reportedly coming from contacts in Limassol.

On the day of his arrest, officers tracked the suspect from Nicosia to Limassol. In the Mesa Geitonia area, he activated his vehicle’s hazard lights and made several phone calls before an unidentified pedestrian signalled him into an unpaved parking area. The two individuals exchanged items before departing separately, prompting police to continue surveillance.

At approximately 6:30 PM, officers intercepted the suspect’s vehicle in the Amathus area. During a search of the vehicle, police discovered 60 packages of white powder, later identified as cocaine, weighing a total of 910 grammes. Additionally, officers found €140 in cash and two mobile phones.

Further searches of his Nicosia residence and a second vehicle uncovered even more narcotics. Officers seized packages of cocaine weighing 67 grammes, approximately 60 grammes of dried cannabis, and an additional 116 grammes of cannabis from the second vehicle, alongside 40 grammes of MDMA.

The suspect now faces multiple charges, including drug possession and possession of narcotics with intent to supply. As authorities continue their investigation, the focus remains on identifying the drug supplier and dismantling the trafficking network.
