This Sunday, the Cyprus-based group will hold the One Beat gathering at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens, starting at 4pm and running until 8.30pm. The event features a playful agenda aimed at getting people moving, connecting with one another and the urban environment, while building resilient social networks.
“On one hand, it’s a platform for artists to expose their creativity and show up authentically,” says the collective, “while for the public it’s an invitation to meet, play and interact in a collective exploration. Through play, circles and the physical exploration of our human limits, we cultivate radical inclusion and peace-making across real and constructed boundaries.”
Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of age or background. The event will showcase circus jamming and various activities until 6.30pm, followed by the Edge of Balance show at 7pm. A music jam led by Jamming for Peace in collaboration with Build a Band will close the evening at 8pm.
In a bid to extend the outreach, Quantum Circus plans to take the festivities to northern Nicosia on September 18. Starting at 6pm, a parade will lead into street performances and circus jamming at 8.30pm outside Selimiye street and Ayia Sofia. The organisers encourage participants to bring musical instruments or circus props to join in the celebrations.
The One Beat event is designed not only as entertainment but also as an opportunity for community building and artistic expression, highlighting the importance of togetherness in today’s world. As the sun sets on Nicosia, the gathering promises to be a vibrant fusion of creativity and connection.
