Theodorou is not new to the Cypriot military landscape; he is returning after 11 years, having previously served as the commander of the Greek armed forces stationed in Cyprus in 2014.

Born in Komotini, Greece in 1967, Theodorou graduated from the Evelpidon Military School in 1988, beginning his military career as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry. He has since been recognised for his service with various awards and medals, underscoring his commitment to his country.

As he prepares to take the helm, Theodorou brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective. Stakeholders within the military community and the broader public are keen to see how his leadership will shape the future of the National Guard.
