Scheduled for May 23–24, 2026, in Kyoto, BitSummit PUNCH is regarded as Japan’s leading indie game festival. This prominent event provides an ideal platform for Digital Vortex to engage with an international audience.
Exploring the World of DREADMOOR
DREADMOOR is a dark first-person fishing adventure set in a flooded world ravaged by a catastrophic event. The game merges exploration with narrative-driven gameplay, allowing players to delve deeper into its story as they navigate the immersive environment.
The presentation at BitSummit will feature the first public reveal of the game’s Japanese localisation, showcasing the developers’ commitment to connecting with the local market. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a playable demo that highlights the core fishing mechanics, a full day-night cycle, and newly introduced narrative systems that centre around themes of infection and madness.
A Unique Gameplay Experience
As players progress through DREADMOOR, they will encounter atmospheric exploration intertwined with fishing-based gameplay. The developers aim to gradually unfold the game’s narrative, offering a rich and engaging experience. Digital Vortex Entertainment is an independent publisher formed by seasoned professionals from the gaming industry. The team includes individuals who have contributed to major titles such as Atomic Heart, Lost Ark, and PUBG: Battlegrounds. The company is dedicated to supporting distinctive projects across various genres and platforms, establishing itself within the global indie publishing landscape.
Digital Vortex is part of Utmost Games, founded by Vladimir Nikolsky, a former chief executive of MY.GAMES. Meanwhile, Dream Dock, the independent studio behind DREADMOOR, is based in Kyrgyzstan and was established by three former colleagues seeking to pursue a shared creative vision. Their collective experience comes from companies like Playrix, MY.GAMES, Saber Interactive, and Owlcat Games.
Looking Ahead to 2026
DREADMOOR is set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026 on PC via Steam, marking the debut title from Dream Dock. With a focus on creating original and emotionally resonant game worlds, the studio aims to captivate players with its first intellectual property.
