Individuals holding valid residency permits can re-enter Cyprus using their existing documents until the end of April, provided their absence from the island began after 28 February 2026. This includes those who have submitted a renewal application for their residency, as long as that application is either pending or has been approved.
Entry Permits Also Extended
The measures extend to individuals holding entry permits that initially required them to enter Cyprus between 1 and 31 March 2026. These individuals will now be allowed to enter the country until 30 April, effectively granting them an additional month to return.
Justification for the Measures
The Deputy Ministry stated that these provisions were necessary due to a situation of force majeure, which is beyond the control of the affected individuals.
