ERB Asfalistiki, the largest general insurance company in Cyprus and a member of Eurobank, is making strides in fire safety through its recent partnership with the Labour Ministry. On March 11, the company hosted a health and safety presentation focused on fire protection in Nicosia, emphasising its commitment to prevention and sustainable development.
This event was organised in collaboration with the Department of Labour Inspection and the Cyprus Health and Safety Association, showcasing the ongoing efforts to enhance workplace safety standards. It marked the second session of the current period, specifically addressing critical issues surrounding fire safety.
The presentation took place at the ERB Cyprus Insurance Holdings headquarters, attracting professionals dedicated to health and safety in the workplace. The focus was on identifying key risks and discussing preventive measures that can be implemented in various environments.
Notable speakers included Andreas Kameris, a structural and fire safety engineer affiliated with the Institute of Fire Engineers, and Leonidas Leonidou, a former assistant director of the Fire Service. Their insights provided valuable information on effective fire protection strategies.
Following the presentation, participants engaged in a discussion that underscored the importance of collaboration among safety professionals. This exchange of knowledge reinforced the idea that workplace safety should be viewed as a collective responsibility.
“Health and safety at work is more than a legal obligation,” stated ERB Asfalistiki. “It represents a core value, a culture and a strategic priority. It is an investment in people and the foundation of every strong organisation.”
ERB Asfalistiki concluded the event by reaffirming its commitment to fostering a safer working environment for all, highlighting that consistent collaboration and responsibility are key to achieving this goal.
