This ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 17, at the bank’s headquarters in Nicosia and honoured teachers who successfully navigated the rigorous 2025 certification programme.

The initiative was organised by the Cyprus Mathematical Society in partnership with the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, the European Association of Career Guidance, and the University of the National Education Commission in Krakow.

Education Minister Athena Michaelidou personally awarded the certifications during the ceremony, highlighting the importance of this programme for advancing educational practices in the region.

Spanning from February to July 2025, the certification programme included comprehensive theoretical training in various aspects of STEAME (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education. Participants engaged in experiential workshops, where they collaboratively developed STEAME learning and creativity plans.

To successfully earn the micro-credential, teachers were required to implement these plans with students aged 10 to 16. This practical component ensured that the educators could translate their learning into effective teaching strategies.

In July 2025, students took part in the “Mathematics and STEAME” summer school, organised by the Cyprus Mathematical Society in Agros, further enriching their learning experience.

The Bank of Cyprus reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational initiatives, stating, “We continue to provide long-term support for all initiatives of the Cyprus Mathematical Society and remain dedicated to promoting innovative learning opportunities for teachers and students in Cyprus.”
