The municipality has initiated a tender process for the construction of the solar farm, which is expected to take 18 months to complete. This initiative is part of Aradippou’s broader strategy towards sustainable development and energy autonomy.
Solar farm: Commitment to Sustainability
The new solar farm will produce an impressive 3.61 megawatts of energy, with a total estimated cost of €4.25 million to be financed entirely from the municipality’s own resources. This investment reflects the municipality’s strong political commitment to projects that have a lasting environmental and social impact.
Enhancing Renewable Energy Projects
According to the municipality, this new facility will complement existing renewable energy initiatives, including another large solar farm and the introduction of zero-emissions vehicles through the European Union’s “Ecorouts” programme. These efforts aim to bolster the municipality’s renewable energy network.
