cyprus-flagged ships — cyprus-flagged ships — Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Shipping has confirmed that 19 ships under the Cypriot flag are currently operating safely in the Persian Gulf. In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry reassured the public that both the vessels and their crews are secure.

The ministry has been closely monitoring the situation in the Persian Gulf from the onset of regional developments and is in regular contact with the management companies of the Cyprus-flagged vessels. “There are currently nineteen ships under the Cypriot flag in the Persian Gulf,” the ministry stated, emphasising the ongoing safety of the maritime operations.

According to the Deputy Ministry, most of these vessels are permanently stationed in the region and are primarily engaged in providing specialised maritime support services. This operational focus is crucial, especially as regional tensions continue to impact shipping routes.

In preparation for potential risks, the ministry had previously issued a circular on February 28, detailing specific safety recommendations aimed at protecting both ships and their crews. This proactive approach highlights the ministry’s commitment to maritime safety.

The Deputy Ministry reiterated that the safety of ships and human life at sea remains its top priority. They continue to monitor developments around the clock, ensuring that any changes in the maritime environment are swiftly addressed.
