  • The online questionnaire will be accessible from February 24 to February 28, 2026, allowing additional opportunities for public engagement.

As part of its initiative, the CBC will conduct this survey on February 24 and 25, 2026, across various locations in Cyprus. The objective is to gather the public’s views and perceptions, which will inform the design of targeted financial education programmes.

Financial literacy: Public Dialogue Event Scheduled for March

This effort will culminate in a public dialogue event, titled “Financial Literacy for Life – European Citizens’ Dialogue,” scheduled for March 26, 2026. The event will feature a roundtable discussion with notable participants, including Maria Luís Albuquerque, the Commissioner for Financial Services, and CBC Governor Christodoulos Patsalides.

Survey Details and Participation

During the two-day survey, a team of CBC staff will approach citizens to collect essential demographic information, such as gender, age group, and district of residence. Participation in the survey is voluntary and can be completed anonymously if desired.

For those who prefer digital participation, the questionnaire will also be available online through a link that will be posted on the CBC’s website. Citizens are encouraged to spend approximately three minutes responding to the survey if approached by CBC representatives.

Data Privacy and Video Recording

Participants will have the option to consent to video recordings of their interviews, which will be used to create a short video showcasing the survey process during the CBC event. A consent declaration for the processing of personal data will be required from those who agree to this recording.

The online questionnaire will be accessible from February 24 to February 28, 2026, allowing additional opportunities for public engagement.

Live Stream and Accessibility

For those unable to attend the event in person, the roundtable discussion will be live-streamed on the CBC’s YouTube channel on March 26, 2026, from 15:15 to 16:15. A recorded version will also be made available for later viewing.

This initiative by the Central Bank of Cyprus highlights its commitment to fostering financial literacy and ensuring that the perspectives of citizens are integral to the development of future financial education actions.
