Aglantzia Municipality has launched its second annual ‘Be a Santa’ campaign, aiming to deliver Christmas gifts to 132 children from disadvantaged families. This heartfelt initiative, announced by Deputy Mayor Andreas Konstantinou, runs from 15 December until 22 December, encouraging residents to ensure that children with fewer opportunities receive presents this Christmas.
Be a: How the Campaign Works
The municipality has identified 132 children from low-income families and invites citizens to participate by calling 22797511 to donate a gift. Konstantinou emphasised that without the campaign, these children would not experience visits from Santa Claus.
Getting Involved
Those wishing to help can become Santa for a child by calling the municipality. Participants will receive the child’s first name, age, and address, enabling them to prepare a thoughtful gift. Donors are then asked to deliver their gifts to ACS Courier in Platy, ensuring that the child’s details are marked clearly on the package.
Christmas Eve Deliveries
All gifts will be delivered to the homes of the 132 children on Christmas Eve. “Let’s all help so the Christmas spirit enters every home and lights up our hearts,” said Konstantinou. He described the initiative as an opportunity to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
Connecting with the Community
In a recent social media post, the deputy mayor shared that participants who call between 15 December and 22 December will be provided with details to prepare their “package of love.” The campaign not only aims to bring joy to the children but also strengthens the community spirit as residents come together to support those in need.
Partnership with ACS Courier
The municipality is collaborating with ACS Courier service to facilitate the delivery process. This partnership ensures that the gifts reach the children in a timely manner, allowing Santa to make his special rounds on Christmas Eve.
Creating Lasting Memories
The ‘Be a Santa’ campaign reflects a commitment to uplifting the local community and spreading joy during the festive season. With the involvement of residents, the initiative aims to create lasting memories for the children and instil a sense of hope and warmth in their homes.
This campaign exemplifies the spirit of giving and reminds us all of the joy that comes from helping others during the holiday season. As residents of Aglantzia step forward to support the campaign, the impact of their kindness will be felt by many families, making this Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most.
