Over 15,000 teachers are prepared to return to public schools as the new academic year approaches in September, as confirmed by the education ministry. This significant influx of educators reflects a commitment to enhancing the quality of education.

Primary Education Statistics

The latest figures reveal that 611 primary schools will be operational across the island for the 2025/6 school year. Of these, 7,557 teachers will support a total of 65,924 pupils, with 8,983 students entering first grade.

Secondary Education Framework

In secondary education, the scenario is equally robust, with 108 schools employing 7,117 teachers to cater to 42,111 students. This structured approach aims to ensure that secondary education remains accessible and effective.

Technical School Involvement

Additionally, 11 technical schools are set to operate, staffed by 803 teachers who will facilitate learning for 5,087 students. This diverse educational landscape is crafted to meet various learning needs across different school types.

Return Dates for Students and Teachers
