Extensive Checks and Inspections
During the operations, officers conducted checks on 621 vehicles and screened 952 individuals. In addition, 58 premises were inspected, leading to 14 reported offences. This thorough approach highlights the police’s commitment to tackling criminal activity efficiently.
Traffic Violations and Enforcement Actions
A separate set of traffic enforcement checks resulted in 392 complaints for various road offences, with 14 ongoing investigations into traffic incidents. Notably, officers immobilised eleven vehicles during these checks.
The traffic violations included 132 cases of speeding and 31 instances of driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers also identified two cases of drug-impaired driving through preliminary roadside drug tests.
Ongoing Commitment to Public Safety
In total, 213 breathalyser tests and six drug tests were carried out on drivers as part of the operations. The police confirmed that these enforcement actions will continue daily, featuring an increased presence and targeted checks to ensure public safety and order are maintained.
