By 8.30pm, the fire was contained, but firefighting crews remained on site to manage hotspots and prevent any risk of reignition. Fortunately, no injuries or damage to homes were reported, and authorities confirmed that the fire was brought under control before it could spread further into the countryside.
Despite the successful containment, local residents voiced concerns regarding the speed of the initial emergency response. Some residents, speaking to local media outlet Politis, alleged that the fire brigade was slow to arrive, although no official information has been released to substantiate these claims.
