  • A masked gang invaded a home in Limassol on Friday night, sparking a police investigation that led to the arrest of a 19-year-old the following day.

Police were alerted to a disturbance at around 9.30pm in the Ayia Fyla area. Upon arrival, they discovered that several masked individuals had forcibly entered the residence, causing alarm among the occupants.

Witnesses reported that a group of seven men, all wearing hoods and armed, knocked on the door before pushing their way inside. The residents, confronted by the intruders, described a chaotic scene as the group attempted to attack them while damaging parts of the property.

In a display of bravery, the occupants managed to fight back, successfully pushing the intruders out of their home and restraining one of them during the confrontation. However, the gang did not leave quietly; they were reported to have damaged two windows in their bid to regain access before fleeing the area.

When police arrived, most of the suspects had already escaped. However, authorities continued their investigation, leading to the arrest of a young man in connection with the incident on Saturday. He was taken into custody under a court warrant as police look to gather more information about the attack.

As the investigation unfolds, officials are working diligently to identify the remaining members of the masked group. The incident has left the local community on edge, raising concerns about safety in the area.
