syrian gang — The recent attack involving a pupil and his father in Nicosia suburb has been linked to a Syrian gang, according to local authorities. The incident escalated during a school event, where the pupil was reportedly assaulted by members of this criminal group.

  • ‘They were brutally beating anyone who was trying to defuse the situation,’ Constantinou stated. He was instrumental in notifying authorities about the escalating violence.
  • ‘Despite the dozens of witnesses, those involved have been released,’ Constantinou expressed his concern, highlighting a growing sense of insecurity at school functions.

Sources from Philenews indicate that the boy was confronted and beaten by individuals well-known to law enforcement for their previous delinquent activities. In a shocking turn of events, his father was also attacked after rushing to the scene to protect his son.

The minor suffered severe injuries, including a nose and head fracture, necessitating treatment at Nicosia General Hospital. His father, meanwhile, sustained a fractured finger alongside multiple bruises and lacerations.

Initially perceived as a mere scuffle between students and their parents, the situation rapidly deteriorated. Andreas Constantinou, the deputy mayor of Nicosia and former mayor of Aglantzia, witnessed the attack firsthand and described the aggressors as brutally attacking anyone attempting to intervene.

‘They were brutally beating anyone who was trying to defuse the situation,’ Constantinou stated. He was instrumental in notifying authorities about the escalating violence.

In a subsequent Facebook post, Constantinou revealed that a knife was discovered at the scene, dispelling earlier claims that the altercation was simply between the pupils. He elaborated that the high school boy was subjected to an unprovoked assault by an older Syrian teenager.

When the victim’s father arrived to demand an explanation, Constantinou recounted that the Syrian teenager summoned a group of his compatriots, resulting in a violent confrontation involving both the father and son.

‘Despite the dozens of witnesses, those involved have been released,’ Constantinou expressed his concern, highlighting a growing sense of insecurity at school functions.
